ROBERT S. SCHRIEBMAN WEARS MANY HATS:

Robert S. Schriebman has been a practicing tax attorney since 1969. He resides in Palos Verdes, California with his wife Ruth. He is a member of the Bar of the State of California, the United States Court of Federal Claims and the Supreme Court of the United States. He has been certified as a specialist in taxation law by the California Board of Legal Specialization and was an adjunct Professor of IRS and California Tax Practice and Procedure at USC’s Graduate School of Accounting. Dr. Schriebman received his JD in 1967, his LLM in taxation in 1968 and his SJD in taxation in 2004. |

Dr. Schriebman has written the following books on the tax collection procedures of the IRS and the State of California: California Taxation Practice and Procedure (2005), Commerce Clearing House; IRS Tax Collection Procedures-A Manual for Practitioners (3rd Edition), (as supplemented, 2003), Commerce Clearing House; How To Do Business With Today’s IRS (1999), Commerce Clearing House; Tax Penalty Handbook (1994), Commerce Clearing House; How to Practice IRS, No Tricks, No Magic, A Procedural Manual for Practitioners (1991), Commerce Clearing House; Protecting Your Business From the IRS (1987), Dow Jones-Irwin; When You Can't Pay Your Taxes-How to Deal With the IRS (1986), Dow Jones-Irwin; California Tax Collection Practice and Procedures - A Manual for Practitioners (1989), Commerce Clearing House, is the first book of its kind ever written in California dealing with the collection procedures of the Franchise Tax Board, Board of Equalization and Employment Development Department. Dr. Schriebman “ghost wrote”, with William H. Nixon, Senator William V. Roth, Jr.'s book entitled The Power to Destroy, Atlantic Monthly Press (1999). Dr. Schriebman is a frequent lecturer at the NYU Tax Institute and is on the faculty of lecturers for the California CPA Education Foundation. He has lectured at USC’s Annual Tax Institute, the annual conference of the American Society of IRS Problem Solvers and other continuing education programs throughout the country. |

Dr. Schriebman actively works with the media. He is a regular contributor of tax-related articles that appear in the Los Angeles Times and other newspapers. |

In 1991, Dr. Schriebman proudly won U.S. veterans recognition for the Flying Tigers of World War II fame. |

Dr. Schriebman served as an advisor to Senator William V. Roth, Jr., former Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee and served as an advisor to the Chief Investigator of the Senate Finance Committee. On September 24, 1997, Dr. Schriebman was the only tax attorney-author invited to appear before the U.S. Senate Finance Committee on IRS Oversight. These were the first such hearings in American history on the IRS by the U.S. Senate. Dr. Schriebman appeared before the Committee for the second time in February, 1998. Many of Dr. Schriebman’s recommendations were incorporated into the Taxpayers’ Rights Provisions of the 1998 IRS Restructuring and Reform Bill, signed into law by President Clinton on July 22, 1998. He “ghost wrote”, with William H. Nixon, Senator Roth’s book entitled The Power to Destroy, Atlantic Monthly Press (1999). |

In 2006, Major Schriebman (Ret.) wrote The California JAG Handbook. This Handbook covers the topics of the Lautenberg Amendment, USERRA for JAGs, SCRA for JAGs, Understanding Posse Comitatus, and Necessities and Immunities in Disaster and Home Defense Situations. |

RABBI

Rabbi Schriebman is an ordained Rabbi having received his ordination in 2004 from the Rabbinical Seminary International, New York. He served as the only Rabbi in the California military system. Rabbi Schriebman has performed rabbinical services at many lifecycle events including, most recently, his own daughter’s wedding. |

JANE SUBECK

Jane Subeck has spent her whole career working in the legal field. She lives in Palos Verdes, California with her husband Marvin. In 1980, she decided to expand her knowledge in the field of law. She attended and graduated from El Camino College’s paralegal program and was certified as a legal assistant/paralegal in March of 1984. In August of 1984, she was hired by Robert Schriebman to act as his paralegal. She has remained in that position continuously since that date. Her duties are much broader than regular secretarial work. She does legal research, interviews clients, creates and produces court pleadings and assists Bob in his duties as a tax attorney. Bob and Jane have in-office meetings and conferences with each other on a daily basis and strategize their client’s cases. Together they formulate workable plans for handling these matters. In August of 2009 Bob and Jane are looking forward to celebrating a quarter century working relationship with each other! |
